My flash fiction piece “Laundry” was recently published in Every Day Fiction. A bit of surreal humor.

My short story “Somewhere the Desert Hides a Well” was published in GigaNotoSaurus. This is a great monthly ‘zine, edited by Ann Leckie, that has published stories by Cat Rambo, Silvia Moreno Garcia, Jeremiah Tolbert, Yoon Ha Lee, Ruth Nestvold, and other great authors. Quite an honor to be in their company!

In my father’s village, certain babies come from the old cork tree between Señora Alicia’s house and the church. At any given time, only five people should know how to extract the newborns from the thick bark of the tree.

My flash fiction piece “Stain” appeared in the Spring 2010 issue of A cappella Zoo, so I’m especially pleased to have a second story published in this beautiful magazine.

My short story “The Giant of Malheur Park” will be appearing in Issue #10 of Kaleidotrope. The issue will be released in October but it’s currently available for preorder. ($5) I have to say, I love this story and I’m thrilled that’s it finally going to be published!

As she entered the park, the ground dipped before her and she tripped. She tried to catch herself, but instead she fell against a wall — a moist wall of flesh.

She came to life with a port-wine stain on her right cheek. The mark of the devil, said her grandmother. The kiss of God, said her grandfather.
